NEW PUSH BUTTON ELECTRONIC TIMERS INTRODUCED

A new push button electronic timer switch from Adaptaflex, the 600A Series, brings a new design as well as increased timing range for the efficient control of lighting.

The Elkay 600A incorporates a new elliptical central control button which is slimmer yet incorporates the same overall dimensions as the standard range of timer switches. It offers a modern, pleasing design style fitting in with the increasingly varied wiring accessories available, today.

Easy to operate, the no-nonsense, push button activated electronic timer is finished in white as standard. It benefits from an adjustable time range from 1 second up to 10 minutes making it more adaptable to a wider range of energy management applications.

The new 600A Series electronic timer can be used to control lighting in new installations or to replace standard light switches on incandescent, fluorescent or compact fluorescent lighting applications. Its use ensures that lights are not left on indefinitely in areas which could be subject to no lighting control, if manual switches were fitted, due to their levels of occupancy. These include meeting rooms, offices, display areas, in fact anywhere a normal light switch is used.

Operation of the unit is tamperproof once pressed and the time delay is activated. If the ellipse button is pressed again, while timing out, the time delay period is reset. Should the button be held down or jammed, the unit fails safe and cuts out after the timing period has elapsed. To restart the timing sequence the button must be released and pressed again.

No neutral feed is required with these timers and two connections, live feed in and switched live out to the load are required. The timers can be used on their own or wired in parallel with other timers in a two wire system.

The units are compatible with a 20mm deep single gang BS accessory plate and are supplied with M3.5 fixing screws as standard.

Other Energy Management Products available include pneumatic and electronic timers, electronic PIR timers, electronic touch timers and microwave timers. They can be pre-set during installation, with run times ranging from 1 second up to 2 hours and are available from electrical wholesalers.

Energy saving from installing timer controls makes sound economical sense in light of legislation, such as the European Directive on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control and the Climate Change Levy.
