NEW CABLE MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS ON SHOW FOR THE FIRST TIME AT HANNOVERHannover Messe, April 11 – 15, 2005

New cable management products from Adaptaflex are on show for the first time at Hannover, including new flexible conduit systems for the protection of electrical, coaxial, data and telecommunications cabling from the UK's leading manufacturer.
The most versatile non-metallic system available, Adaptalok, now benefits from new fittings such as the 54mm flange with integral ‘O' ring and new ‘Big bore' metric range. Its one-piece, IP66 non-metallic fittings offer a wide through bore, allowing increased cable fill capacity. A direct metric replacement for PG threads, the system uses nylon conduit and is available in seven nominal conduit sizes.
Providing enhanced ingress protection for the Adaptalok system is a high visibility insert seal that simply fits between the fitting and conduit to give an IP68 rating, while new fittings reduce installation times on the Adaptaseal, Adaptaring, Korifit and Xtraflex ranges. A number of Adaptaflex systems successfully passed an independently conducted test to the highly demanding DIN 40 050, Part 9, 1993, for resistance to high pressure water jets affording IP69K compliance. In order to successfully pass the tests all the Adaptaflex systems had to remain completely dry internally throughout the total duration, which they successfully achieved.
While there are many general applications for flexible conduit systems, there are equally a host of specialised applications. These include the protection of electric cabling for data transfer, building applications, HVAC systems, lighting, underground, hostile environments, offshore, fire, security and CCTV.
Use of Adaptaflex low fire hazard (LFH) systems with their Halogen free, low smoke and non-flame propagating composition, is particularly appropriate in rail, underground and building applications where the general public is involved, such as large retail developments, shopping malls, out-of-town shopping centres, exhibition complexes, airport terminals etc.
Perhaps one of the most significant product introductions is the Korifit range of flexible conduits, which now benefit from the all-new draw-wire range and the ultimate in time saving conduit systems, the new pre-wired range.
The new, unique Korifit pre-wired flexible conduit systems eliminate the time consuming operation of inserting cables. Installation time saved is significant and the system utilises the full range of Korifit one-piece, push-on fittings, including straight, 90º and straight one-piece couplers. All cables are 6491B type, single core copper stranded with LFH coating, have the new European standard colour insulation.
Also on the stand will be samples of the Elkay cable management range which includes a full selection of cable glands, terminal blocks and connectors, a comprehensive package of leading edge energy management accessories and a new series of compact, cost-effective DIN rail terminals and accessories.
