CUTTING TOOLS HELP SPEED UP INSTALLATIONCUTTING TOOLS FROM ADAPTAFLEX HELP SPEED UP INSTALLATION OF FLEXIBLE CONDUIT SYSTEMS
A range of specialist tools designed to help speed-up the installation of flexible conduit systems is available from Adaptaflex Ltd.
Use of the tools can help significantly, especially where repetitive lengths or frequent cuts of the flexible conduit are required on an installation. Optimum performance of a flexible conduit system is only achieved when it is correctly cut, assembled and installed.
Four specialist tools are available in the Adaptaflex range: Kwikcut, Swingcut, Rotocut and Cut-vice. Kwikcut makes light of cutting to size non-metallic conduits up to 32mm diameter. Easy to use, it supports the conduit while the blade is depressed and cuts through the trough of the corrugations. The conduit is rotated for a clean, easy cut.
Swingcut is a versatile vice and saw combination designed to produce a neat square cut for liquid tight and pliable conduits between 10mm to 32mm diameter. A six to one leverage advantage provides a strong and consistent cutting action for the tool and blade replacement is straightforward.
Rotocut offers a simple yet effective means of cutting 20mm and 25mm metallic conduit systems. The conduit is held in a recess while the Rotocut lever and body is held. Rotation of the cutting blade quickly cuts through the spiral. A simple twist separates the two parts ready for assembly of the fitting. Spare circular blades are available.
Cut-vice affords the ability to firmly hold secure conduit sizes 16mm to 40mm diameter for a clean cut to be carried out. The conduit is placed along the vice body and the clamp tightened. Holding the conduit and integral handle together a hacksaw blade is inserted into the guide and the cut carried out. When cutting braided conduit it is helpful to wrap adhesive tape around the conduit at the cutting point to secure the braid. The tape is removed after the cut prior to attachment of the fitting.
The full range of Adaptaflex cutting tools is available direct from leading electrical wholesalers along with replacement blades, where appropriate.
