ADAPTAFLEX AT IFSECIFSEC 2003 - International Fire & Security Exhibition, NEC, Birmingham May 19-22, 2003
Hall 6 Stand No: D147
As the UK's leading manufacturer of flexible conduit systems, Adaptaflex was showing the widest range of products for CCTV cable management solutions at IFSEC, including low fire hazard (LFH) systems with their Halogen free and low smoke composition.
Used for the protection of electrical, coaxial, data and telecommunications cabling, flexible conduit is important in many areas, but particularly where vulnerable installations such as CCTV systems are concerned.
“Adaptaflex can supply a suitable system for any given application, whether a camera is mounted internally or externally, on a building, gantry or tower,” explains Jonathan Burke of Adaptaflex. “Swivel fittings facilitate free rotation of the conduit on cameras that pan and tilt, eliminating stress or wear of the flexible conduit.”
Highly versatile, Adaptalok non-metallic, flexible conduit systems, with easy to install, one-piece push and twist fittings offer an IP66 ingress protection rating as standard. Using the new, high visibility insert seal the systems afford an IP68 rating, tested at 1.1 bar for 35 minutes. Recently, it was successfully independently tested to IP69K, DIN 40 050 Part 9, 1993, for resistance to high pressure water jets. In sizes from 10-54mm diameter, Adaptalok benefits from a full range of fittings.
New two-part fittings, the result of an extensive on-going research and development programme, are now being offered on the Adaptaseal, Adaptaring and Xtraflex flexible conduit systems from Adaptaflex.
They bring many benefits including faster installation times, quick release facility, without the need for tools, a new flat face sealing washer and a complete range of thread options.
Also on show was a full range of cable glands from Elkay, including the new ‘dome top' Euro Index cable gland, a highly competitive three-part gland offering IP68 performance to 5 bar. An extremely small working envelope makes them ideal for CCTV applications and they are available from electrical wholesalers on the same order as Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems.
Where abuse resistance is a consideration, the abrasion resistant stainless steel covered polyamide conduit system, Type PRSS, offers the low fire hazard properties of a non-metallic flexible system with stainless steel braiding. This makes it ideal for locations prone to vandalism, the use of overbraided flexible conduit affords additional protection to the camera umbilicals, particularly in remote locations.
