NEW FITTING INTRODUCED FOR METALLIC FLEXIBLE CONDUIT SYSTEM RANGESAs part of its ‘Xtra' promise to the market Adaptaflex has brought product benefits to its S and SP type flexible metallic conduit systems.
The highly versatile S and SP systems now benefit from a new and improved nickel plated, brass fitting, which is not only easier to use, making for faster installation, but it also provides a better overall appearance.
“One of the additional benefits of the new fitting is an improved knurled area providing better grip during installation,” explained Jonathan Burke of Adaptaflex.
The S metallic range of flexible conduits from Adaptaflex is widely used in dry applications in buildings including under-floor wiring and has also found popularity with architects in a number of exposed, internal installations.
With its PVC covering, the SP metallic coated system affords liquid resistance, with the inherent strength of steel and is extensively used on limited dynamic, static and weatherproof requirements for most industrial and commercial applications. The fitting provides IP54 rating as standard.
Where halogen free nylon is used for the coating on SN Type, it provides enhanced resistance to solvents and abrasion over a wide temperature range.
Where public safety is of concern in hospitals, shopping and leisure centres, airport and rail terminals and buildings in general, the flame retardant, low smoke density and low toxicity properties of halogen free Polyolefin coating on LFH-SP Type flexible conduit system fully complements fire performance cables.
“Introduction of these product improvements is part of our Xtra ‘Raising the Standard' programme,” added Jonathan Burke, “and represents the first of many planned improvements to the full range of conduit products in the future.”
