XTRAFLEX NON-METALLIC SYSTEM BENEFITS FROM A NEW TWO-PIECE FITTING FOR QUICK INSTALLATION
Xtraflex non-metallic flexible conduit system from Adaptaflex now has a completely new range of two-piece fittings, replacing the previous three parts.
The new, two-piece fittings, which are available across the complete thread range, provide improved performance with reduced installation times when compared to similar products.
Xtraflex is a PVC based system and is suitable for applications where twisting or torsional forces are likely to be applied to the conduit. The nature of its construction also allows it to bend to a very tight radius, while providing an overall IP65 rating against ingress of solids and liquids.
Provision of the new fittings is part of a significant, ongoing investment programme in new tooling, which in turn is an element of Adaptaflex¡¯s highly successful Xtra campaign of ¡®Raising the Standard¡¯. This programme has allowed the development of an even more extensive range of thread options across the wide variety of non-metallic systems, including NPT and PF (gas) threads.
Utilising straight fittings and curved 90¨¬ elbow fittings, both with fixed external threads, these are now available in a range of thread types and sizes, including: metric M16-M32, NPT ¨ü¡± to 1¡±, PF ¨ü¡± to 1¡± and UNEF circular fittings.
Assembly of the Xtraflex system is further assisted by the new design of the fitting into which the flexible conduit is simply pushed, and the fitting¡¯s compression nut is then tightened to complete the joint and system integrity.
Other Adaptaflex non-metallic systems benefiting from the new tooling include Adaptaseal, Adaptaring and Korifit. All are fully detailed in the recently issued new products guide, which is freely available from Adaptaflex Ltd.
