Adaptaflex introduces its 'Rail Industry Guide' and new products at Turin

EXPO Ferroviaria 2010, 8 – 10 June, Lingotto Fiere, Turin, ItalyAdaptaflex         Hall: 1    Stand No: 620

A world leader in flexible conduit system technology, Adaptaflex will introduce its highly regarded ‘Rail Industry Specification Guide' along with new products for the protection of critical cabling on locomotive, carriage, trackside and infrastructure applications at EXPO Ferroviaria.

Already being specified on international rail projects the unique ‘Adaptalok ATS' range will be on show with new fittings adding to the already extensive offering of this highly versatility and evolutionary non-metallic flexible conduit system. Significantly reducing installations times with single piece fittings and a push-twist-pull installation process, ‘Adaptalok ATS' is suitable for all wet or dry applications possessing the highest possible ingress protection ratings. System performance and integrity are assured combining low weight with high impact strength, while offering a quick, more economical installation process.

The system includes an extensive range of fittings ideal for rail applications, including straights and elbows with nylon or swivel metal threads, in a range of sizes from 13mm to 54mm. It offers full low fire hazard capability, high impact resistance, vibration resistance and low temperature flexing.

Adaptaflex also manufactures the highly advanced non-metallic flexible conduit Polyketone system, Type PK, with an industry defining standard combining Super Low Fire Hazard with high UV resistance, flexibility and fatigue life, making it suitable for both static and flexing applications. For safety critical and harsh environments, stainless steel or tinned copper overbraid options are available. All are fully approved for use by major rail companies worldwide.

For use inside or beneath trains and carriages, Type CP medium weight conduit utilises a special co-polymer material that offers very high flexibility and fatigue life, with a wide operating temperature range, Low Fire Hazard (LFH) capability and extremely low toxicity. It facilitates the use of ‘Adaptalok ATS' fittings.

Also being introduced is Adaptaflex's definitive reference guide to specifying flexible conduit systems. The ‘Rail Industry Specification Guide' gives an overview of the demanding application requirements along with detailed information on selection criteria and technical data. It includes International and Country Standards, how they are applied and developments currently in progress regarding harmonisation of standards.

Adaptaflex develops and manufactures high quality, high performance products utilised throughout the rail industry and approved by recognised industry standards from LUL and BSI, in addition to SNCF, Deutsche Bahn, Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom etc. They are specified and used on some of the world's leading rail projects for locomotive, carriage, trackside, ancillary and infrastructure applications.

Adaptaflex technical and sales personnel will be at hand throughout the exhibition meeting visitors to discuss and advise on product selection and suitability for specific applications.

All of the systems are fully detailed in the comprehensive Adaptaflex catalogue, ‘Conduit Systems for Critical Power & Data Cable Protection', available on request, either at the stand or via quick download from the company website, www.adataflex.com .
