Adaptaflex provides dynamic CCTV cable protection solutions

Adaptaflex's dynamic range of flexible conduit systems provides dedicated protection to vulnerable CCTV systems, not only from the elements, but also from the threat of vandalism.

The wide range of Adaptaflex metallic and non-metallic flexible conduit systems is specifically designed to provide ingress protection to the vulnerable umbilical cabling used on CCTV cameras and networks. The flexible systems are ideal for both static and rotating cameras.

Choosing the correct system is vitally important and is mainly dependent upon its intended application. Other considerations also have to be made such as cable size, ingress protection, security, location, accessibility, serviceability and the perceived threat of vandalism.

In recent times CCTV has become an increasingly integral part of daily life and has a high public presence so having the cameras demobilised or out of action is simply not an option. Schools, business premises, shopping centres, motorways, underground, rail and airport terminals are all prime examples of locations that require unfailing CCTV operation. Using Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems provides dedicated protection to the vulnerable cables, with more arduous conduit available for systems that are perceived as having a greater threat posed to them. This can be in the form of adverse weather, such as torrential rain, which could damage the wiring and equipment, and even vandalism, leaving the system unoperable.

Generally considered to be inaccessible, CCTV cameras are actually often located in rather vulnerable positions due to their strategic placement in order to capture the best coverage meaning they are vulnerable and require protection for electrical, coaxial, data and telecommunications cabling.

Adaptaflex non metallic conduit with metallic overbraid is a popular choice for vulnerable systems, as it has all the benefits and flexibility associated with the plastic conduit, without the weight and restrictions of metallic conduit.

Ideal for CCTV applications, Adaptalok non metallic flexible conduit systems are highly versatile and include easy to install, one piece push and twist ‘Adaptalok ATS' fittings. They provide one of the highest ingress protection ratings available, IP68 (4 bar).

Moving and rotating cameras require unrestricted flexibility, Adaptalok has a full range of 90º curved elbows 45º swivel flanges and straight swivel flanges.

Suitable for use in low temperature environments (-45ºC – 120ºC), Modified Polyamide 11, Type Pl-H is available in nine nominal sizes and has a high fatigue life with extra flexibility for continuous motion applications. It is has a high compression strength, as well as very UV resistance, ideal for equipment that is left exposed to the elements, over long periods of time in extreme conditions.

Adaptaflex low fire hazard (LFH) systems are particularly appropriate to systems involving the general public. Halogen free and with low smoke composition, the systems are ideal for large retail parks or travel complexes such as airports or railway stations, where the public gather on mass.

Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems are available via electrical wholesalers and stockists and further detailed information is available on the company website at www.adaptaflex.com
