Nigel tracks down winning scratch2win card to claim his satnav Electrical contractor Nigel Marrows is the first winner in the Adaptaflex ‘Scratch2win' competition, tracking down the first winning ticket at Edmundson Electrical in Grimsby and recently collected his prize, a TomTom ONE satellite navigation system.
“I'm over the moon,” declared Nigel who started his own business 3 years ago after leaving Huntsman Tioxide on the Humber Bank, where he had worked as an electrical technician for 23 years. A regular at the local electrical wholesaler counter, Nigel picked up his winning ticket when he was collecting supplies for a job. “We do a lot of domestic work for builders and I needed some flexible conduit for an installation. The Adaptaflex promotion was on at the time. Imagine my surprise when I discovered I'd won. I think it shocked the guys in the Edmundson's branch as much as it did me! I had to look twice when the three panels on the card all matched."
Nigel actually used the flexible conduit to protect electrical wiring to a garden pond installation, which was a little different to the usual house extensions, kitchens, bathrooms and new builds. “At Huntsman we used a lot of Adaptaflex for control panels, motors, lighting, heating, hazardous areas, dust, water, fire and explosion zones.
“The satnav will come in useful for business and particularly when I get time to go fishing and find some of the more interesting river bank locations,” added Nigel.
Steve Tuff, the branch manager at Edmundsons Grimsby said,”It was great to have Nigel as the first winner in the competition as it is a promotion that has attracted a lot of interest at the branch.”
The competition, which has been running at Adaptaflex Super and Premier stockists throughout the UK, has 10 satallite navigation systems as ‘Scratch2win' prizes and a draw to win a Samsung 32” LCD TV.
“This promotion, which covers Adaptaflex contractor packs, has really proven to be popular with both the branches and contractors in general,” said local Adaptaflex representative Garry Hinton.
