New US catalogue features latest dual listed nylon protection system to meet UL1696 Adaptaflex, the leading flexible conduit systems manufacturer, is launching its all-new US catalogue covering its extensive collection of cable management solutions and accessories for the protection of electrical cables.
Centering on the company's massive range of conduit tubing systems and accessories, the 72-page catalogue includes technical and application data. It is designed to help specifiers, consultants and installers select and utilize the best system to protect vulnerable electrical, coaxial data and fiber optic cabling.
Featured for the first time is the new Adaptaflex PADL Nylon conduit tubing system, the first UL 1696 Dual Listed conduit system. In addition to other new non-metallic systems there is a new insert seal for high performance which exceeds the NEMA6 & 6P ingress protection rating and a wide range of stainless steel overbraided metallic systems.
“The new PADL system offers many benefits to OEMs, having achieved CSA certification,” explained Julian Good, working out of Import Logistics, Adaptaflex's US sales office. “Not only does it meet the new, harmonized UL 1696 requirements, but in terms of ingress protection it exceeds them. It also has a low fire hazard capability, being halogen free, low toxicity, low smoke, and is self-extinguishing.
“We had great interest in our products at the IMTS exhibition in Chicago last fall and were able to demonstrate the installed cost savings, in terms of ‘ $s saved', using Adaptaflex products.”
Utilizing easy to use, push and twist, Adaptalok fittings, with NPT threads, the new PADL system gives instant liquid resistant performance, which exceeds the ingress protection needed for the majority of industrial and machinery applications. It offers lower installed costs and has much greater flexibility than metallic systems. Where higher liquid tight performance is required the high visibility insert seal can be used for NEMA 6 and NEMA 6P compliance (IP67, IP68 and IP69k).
Adaptaflex flexible conduit tubing systems are offered in a range of metallic and non-metallic UL, UR and CSA recognized and compliant products for the North American market.
These are in US Trade sizes from ¼in. to 2½in., with fittings in NPT, UNEF Metric, PG and PF thread types available. A large diameter system is also offered in 3in. and 4in. options complete with fittings and accessories. Other products featured include: cable glands, terminal blocks, DIN rail terminals and Aquasafe waterproof plugs and connectors.
