Adaptaflex to the rescue! One of the more unusual applications of Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems is to be found on vehicles used for tyre removal and refitting at the roadside.
A major supplier of such vehicles is Cages Ltd. based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. The company is a specialist in all aspects of compressors, dryers, filters and associated accessories and offers nationwide installation and service.
Cages Ltd. has developed an ancillary business which fits out vans with the necessary compressors, tyre fitting equipment, work benches and tool storage to offer a capable and speedy roadside service to the stranded motorist or goods vehicle. Vehicles fitted out by Cages are in use by many of the UK's leading tyre service companies and motoring organisations.
Protection of the ‘on-board' wiring which services the various electrical components is of course of paramount importance and – following experience with inferior product which did not withstand the arduous conditions – Cages Ltd. now specifies Adaptaflex type PAFS non metallic conduit which is used with Adaptalok fittings. The Nylon 6 conduit system is easily installed and provides high flexibility and high fatigue life.
Mr.Hans Wedel, Vehicle Installations Manager at Cages added: “We had a number of instances of conduit failure before we started to specify Adaptaflex. Whilst the amount of conduit on a vehicle is not great, it does perform a critical job and helps to provide the integrity of service our customers demand”
