Availability and quality were key in winning CEL order When electrical engineering company CEL of Surbiton had to source a large quantity of flexible conduit quickly it chose the one manufacturer it knew who could supply both quantity and quality, Adaptaflex.
The requirement was for 5000 metres of Type S, including fittings, for a major refurbishment of a former American Trading House in Ecclestone Place next to Victoria Station, London, which is now fully serviced prestigious offices.
“Not only were we able to supply CEL the required quantity and all within a short time frame we were also able to fully support our product with all the relevant certification,” said Dave White of Adaptaflex.
“As the UKs leading manufacturer it is imperative that we are prepared to invest in stock as we are well aware that our customers require quality product delivered on time. No project, whatever its nature, can afford to wait for deliveries and this was no exception.
“New builds, in particular, are susceptible to delay clauses and no contractor wants to incur additional cost by late arrival of product.”
The product in question was Adaptaflex S Type steel flexible conduit supplied to site on 100 metre drums. The plain steel system has a galvanised finish and is inherently low fire hazard making it ideal for applications such as this within buildings. It is highly flexible and offers high mechanical strength with competitive installed costs.
Supply of the Adaptaflex product was via local electrical wholesaler Moss Electrical.
“The ability to offer product ex stock from our central warehouse and manufacturing facility in Coleshill, Birmingham, was a major factor in our winning this business,” said Dave White.
