New range of Hazardous Area cable glands ATEX compatible cable glands, suitable for use in hazardous areas with a variety of cable sizes, are introduced by Adaptaflex.
Designed for use with non-armoured cables, the Elkay EExe cable glands combine an outer seal and cable grip. They can be used for direct fixing into the threaded entry of an enclosure or into a standard knockout, when used with a suitable locknut.
Manufactured from Polyamide 6, which is self-extinguishing and flame retardant, the cable glands use a halogen free Santoprene seal and each one is clearly marked with the size, approval number and CE mark.
The Elkay EExe Nylon cable glands consist of a body, sealing ring, clamping ring and capnut and are available in six metric size options including: M16, M20, M25, M32, M40 and M50. They are SIRA approved, to ATEX 1072X, for use in hazardous areas.
Depending on size, the cable glands are supplied in suitable pack sizes and come complete with full installation instructions.
The new range of Nylon cable glands have an IP66 ingress protection rating as standard, which can be increased to IP68 by using a special washer. Unused entries on an enclosure should be blocked using a certified ‘stopping plug', such as the ‘e' Polyamide 6.6, glass filled plug, with rubber seal, from Elkay for use in hazardous area applications.
