BSI Kitemark certification to new standard Adaptaflex Ltd – the UK market leader in flexible conduit systems – has become one of the the first companies to be licenced under the BSI Kitemark scheme to the new International standard IEC 61386 (BS EN 61386)
Superseding the current European flexible conduits standard EN 50086, IEC 61386 (BS EN 61386) covers the performance characteristics of flexible conduits. These include fatigue life, bend radius, operating temperature, non-flame propagation, IP ratings, impact resistance, pull-off strength etc.
Adaptaflex now has the appropriate third party certification by the BSI through the Kitemark scheme, making it one of the the first manufacturers whose products fully comply with the new standard.
“This is a major achievement for the company and again sees Adaptaflex leading the field, not just in the UK, but across the world,” said Duncan McKinlay, General Manager & Director. “Customers can confidently specify Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems for a comprehensive range of appropriate applications in the full knowledge that they meet and have been approved to the new Kitemark scheme.”
BSI Scheme Manager Andy Butterfield and Aby Smith recently visited the company to present the Kitemark award and certificate to Duncan McKinlay and Meirion Buck.
