Switching to two wheels with Tommy Hill Adaptaflex is changing its sponsorship from four wheels to two with Tommy Hill of the Virgin Mobile Yamaha Superbike team competing in the prestigious British Superbike Championship.
Tommy is regarded by many as one of the UK's brightest and most talented up-and-coming riders and completed his debut season with the team last year. During the year he made the front row of the grid on two occasions being the youngest rider at 20 ever to do so and went on to win the race at Cadwell Park. This season he heads the Virgin Mobile Yamaha Team line-up.
“We are delighted to continue our successful links with motor sport by sponsoring Tommy,” said Duncan McKinlay, General Manager and Director of Adaptaflex. “Last season he was awarded the Steve Hislop Memorial Trophy for the Young Rider of the Year, a tremendous achievement.
“Tommy will carry the Adaptaflex logo on his leathers in every round of the British Superbike Championship”.
As part of the sponsorship Tommy Hill will be visiting Adaptaflex's Coleshill facility to familiarise himself with the business and have the opportunity to meet the people.
There are 13 rounds of the British Superbike Championship commencing at Brands Hatch Indy on Sunday, March 26, with the final event making its return to the venue, but on the GP circuit.
The team will again be riding the highly competitive Yamaha R1 Superbike, which they have been developing still further over the winter months in preparation for the start of the season.
“Each round of the British Superbike Championship draws between 30,000 to 40,000 spectators and will be featured live on ITV, with six races appearing on Sky Sports. Race days will also provide us with the opportunity to entertaining customers and what promises to be an extremely exciting year for us,” added Duncan McKinlay.
For the last two years Adaptaflex has successfully sponsored Tim Sugden in the highly-competitive Gruppe M Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. In that time Tim has not only won the British GT crown, but also came second in the FIA championship series. - Ends -
